Training & Supervision

Dr. Hancock-Smith has extensive experience in providing clinical supervision to therapists in training. She has worked with psychology and mental health graduate students, psychology postdoctoral residents, psychiatry residents and fellows, and medical (outside of Psychiatry) students, residents, and fellows. She is also a Qualified Supervisor for Mental Health Counselor registered interns.

Dr. Hancock-Smith’s approach to training and supervision is open and collaborative. It includes competency-based supervision as well as process-oriented supervision. Formats include direct observation (i.e. in-person attendance of therapy/testing sessions), audio and video recording review (when such means are HIPPA compliant and agreed to by the patient) as well as in-person discussion of therapy/testing cases.

Every supervisee will receive at least one hour of face-to-face supervision per week and additional time as needed for skill development and licensure and/or training requirements. Dr. Hancock-Smith is also happy to refer potential supervisees to connect with some of her past trainees to obtain further insight into her approach to and style of supervision. Supervision and training fees range from $100 to $175 per hour. Contact us about training and supervision today!
